If we won’t find the right form of entertainment for ourselves, or the offered repertoire of cinemas and theatres doesn’t suit us but we still have a lot of free time, it is worth taking a walk around Lublin. We can go through the streets of Krakowskie Przedmiescie, see a multimedia fountain show on the Lithuanian Square or take a stroll around the Saski Park. If we have more time, it is worth going to the Zemborzycki Reservoir or the UMCS Botanical Garden.

Saski Garden

An ideal place for an afternoon walk in the city centre. The city park’s project was based on Warsaw’s park and was called the Saski garden. The park has become one of Lublin's favourite leisure destinations. In the park, we can admire the peacocks and stop at the pond. There is also a concert bowl, in which concerts are organized, and if you have children you can go to an extensive playground.

Lithuanian Square

The place of signing the Polish-Lithuanian Union in 1569. This event is commemorated with the monument in the shape of an obelisk. At the square we can also see the monuments of Marshal Józef Piłsudski, the Unknown Soldier and the Constitution of May 3rd. The buildings located in the northern part of the square are the former palaces: Czartoryski Palace, Lubomirski Palace and the Governor's Government.
After revitalization, one of the biggest attractions of the square are beautiful fountains illuminated in the evenings. In the summer season there are multimedia shows there, during which short presentations about the history of the city or cultural attractions are displayed at the water curtain. The show schedule can be checked on www.facebook.com/fontannamultimedialnalublin

Zemborzycki Reservoir

An impressive water reservoir on the Bystrzyca river was created in 1970-1974 in the so-called "social action." Currently, it is a perfect place for recreation for Lubliners and tourists coming to the city. Among the innumerable attractions there are cycling and Nordic walking, a rope park, water-skiing, water equipment rentals and bicycles. It is also a paradise for anglers. If you do not feel like actively spending free time, you can just lie on the grass and contemplate the surrounding nature.

There we can find plants originating from Poland, America, Asia and Mediterranean areas. Garden collections include over 1,600 species of trees and shrubs, over 3,300 green plants growing in the ground, and about 1,600 species of greenhouse plants. The Kościuszko Manor is located in the garden, and according to the stories, Tadeusz Kosciuszko himself visited it.
